| Pearson Jewelry
has been around for many years. The Ramsey's originally opened the business in
1960. In 1985, it was purchased by the McClure's who sold it to the Pearson's in
1993. Pearson Jewelry is a full service, fine jewelry store. It is a place where you can find anything from sterling silver pieces to watch repair, from engagement rings to class rings, from estate pieces to modern pieces. The shop itself is a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere for all of your jewelry needs. |
| Darryl Pearson |
Darryl was intrigued with the
jewelry business at an early age of 19. In February 1979, he was offered an
apprentice job by Wayne Sandlin in Houston through a friend. After 5-6 months of
apprenticing, Darryl took a position as a jeweler for a couple of years with
Gordon's. Because of a change in the management system, Darryl and the friend he
apprenticed with decided to open up their own business in Houston. It thrived
greatly. They did much business for major jewelry companies city-wide. After a
couple of years, they agreed that his partner would buy him out, and Darryl
began to work for an independent jewelry store also in Houston. At this store,
Darryl replaced 3 jewelers with the incredible work ethic and talent he has.
Darryl stayed with this company for 12 years. After leaving Houston, he joined
his mother back home in West Monroe to be head jeweler for Pearson Jewelry. |
| Alice Pearson |
Alice bought Pearson Jewelers in November of 1993. Darryl was looking for a jeweler position closer to home, and Alice, his mom, purchased the business to offer him an opportunity to come back to West Monroe. Alice sold the business to Darryl in April of 2002. She now works as financial manager and salesperson. Alice has served as an Elected Official on the West Monroe City Council since November of 1992. |
